In loving memory of my Great Aunt Gladys. She passed away in the summer of 2023 with 94 years of life experience.
She never hesitated to share a warm hug. She carried a spirit of kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering grace through every situation. No matter what life brought her way, she remained positive and professional, setting an example for all of us. In our family’s hardest times, she was a steady presence—offering care, comfort, and strength.
One of her favorite sayings was, “Every day I wake up is a good day!” and that joyful outlook left a lasting impression on me.

Aunt Gladys was also always up for an adventure. She lived life fully and fearlessly. She even went skydiving out of an airplane in her 70s! That bold spirit is something I’ll never forget.
I remember our times together. The smell of her perfume. We used to go swimming at her house, and drive around in her latest fancy convertible. She loved to reminisce when I accidentally gave the key to her house in San Diego to a little boy. He was a street vendor in Tijuana, Mexico, selling Chiclets. I reached into my pocket and gave him all of my change (and house key) for a small pack of gum. Oops!
I will deeply miss her. I believe she taught me the meaning of kindness. I will always hold that lesson in my heart.

Thank you, Aunt Gladys, for your love—you made a difference in my life, and I am forever grateful.
