Summer pool parties are not complete without… dessert!
Every summer, we usually have a few pool parties with potlucks for some friends. I usually provide a main course and the guests bring the sides.
I have never really been a sweets person, a dessert person. Personally, I am more of a savory. Crunchy, Salty.
This year, my friend Michael brought a new treat to one of our parties. I knew immediately upon the desserts unveiling it was a homemade pavlova. It was gorgeous!

I had never tasted a pavlova. Honestly, I was never really interested as it looked too sweet in pictures. However, this dessert was so appealing, so inviting, one bite and I wanted more, it was heavenly!

Breaking into the soft crunch of the meringue and the bliss of the sweet, whipped cream with the berries. The combination was so glorious I ate two helpings!
I found out this was Michael’s first attempt at making a pavlova. Well, it was successful perfection!
I do not post a list of what to bring, so we can end up with random leftover bags of chips and desserts. Usually, I end up sending surplus items home with guests, so we do not need to freeze or consume them. There were no leftovers of this dessert to send home with anyone.
Michael said he literally just “whipped it up” before the party. Next time, I think I will ask him for the recipe. In the meantime, if you want to give it a go, try Sally’s or Joy of Baking.
