Well, it is official. Five years ago Chad & I tied the knot here in Des Moines. Oh, my… time flies!

I usually don’t get political in my posts, but this one I had to take a moment to share progress. Equality matters and we were so blessed to be able to share this day with our friends and family in our new home state of Iowa. Since 2010, I am happy to report the #freedomtomarry has progressed to 37 states as of today. Nearly 72% of the U.S. population lives in a state currently issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples state-wide. Later in 2015, the US Supreme Court will hear arguments which could bring the freedom to marry to more same-sex couples on the federal level. Thank you for your love and continued support to move equality forward in the US.

In other news, our amazing friends Rachel & Melissa created this wonderful video as our wedding gift. It is hilarious and we love it so much. I wanted to share a laugh with you and help us remember this special day. I apologize for my bad acting in advance. Thank you to everyone who participated in this video. We will cherish it for years to come!
